Conquering My Fried Chicken Phobia

I did it! I made fried chicken! And if you're sitting there thinking "this lady is really running out of blogging material" go read this post.

My family has been bugging me for months to give it a try, and yesterday I finally did it! Thankfully I didn't feed my family raw chicken, which was my greatest fear.

Here's the chicken bubbling away. I'm not sure how to make it so that the part that touches the pan doesn't get so dark. I did cut into the chicken after I took it out, just to make sure it was fully cooked, and it wasn't, but did I panic? No, I just put it in the oven to finish cooking.

Happy Family

I still think it's easier just to pick up a bucket of the stuff.

I am so proud of you! Those mashed potatoes look pretty good too. What's next on your things to conquer?

Hi Momala.....

well, I'm quite proud of you too! You did it! It looks really good!

((Just to let you know, if your oil had been a little deeper, the chicken would have been able to float off the bottom, and it wouldn't have gotten the 'dark' spots. And, when it's off the bottom, you can cook it longer so it won't be pink inside. Just to let you know....))

But.....you did just great for your first time and I am just pleased as punch for you! I hope you do it again.

well I am quite proud of you! :) I still won't try it. One bad attempt when I was 18, scarred me for life!
