Crystal over at
Biblical Womanhood is hosting a
Making Your Home a Haven Challenge. There are three things to do today for this challenge: Refresh your spirit, Take time to plan (plan 5 things to do everyday for your morning routine), and Do Something (clean & de-clutter entryway) Luckily, I am already in the routine of waking up before my family and having devotions. For Take time to plan, I have decided on the following Morning Routine:
- Do morning devotions & prayer time
- Make family breakfast
- Clean up kitchen after breakfast
- Make lunches for kids
- Make bed
There, that wasn't too hard! The hard part will be waiting to get on the computer until that is all done! Now I'm off to clean and de-clutter my entryway. That shouldn't be too hard since its not that bad today!
Run over to Biblical Womanhood to read the details of Crystals challenge and join in!

I love this! When I am not on the run, I will have to take a few minutes and look this over. My mornings desperately need a focus. You do Devo's in the morning? WOW! What do you use?
Wasn't this challenge great?!! Totally inspiring. Keeping it simple is so wise of you!! Thanks for sharing ;o).
Misty,
I have been trying to get up at 5:00am (today I didn't make it and got up at 5:30) I usually read a chapter in Psalms, then the chapter in Proverbs that corresponds with the date, then I have been working my way through the new testament and I read the 1st chapter of Revelation today. Then I pray for my day and for my family and any needs I know of.
I started getting up this early after reading Shopping For Time by Carolyn Mahaney. If you haven't read this book, I would highly recommend it! It changed the way I spend my time and how I go about my day. I can't say that I like getting up at 5:00, but I am much more productive when I start the day this way.
Anyway, I hope this helps!
ok, first of all, I read this post in a mad rush to get out the door.
Second, I thought you did family devotions first thing in the morning. I was in awe. I do my Bible reading and prayer time in the mornings too...
My problem with mornings is that I treasure my nights... Why, oh why can't we have both???
