WFMW - Treat Box

Hey, do you ever go into your pantry looking for a granola bar (or in my case some chocolate) and reach for the box of granola bars and find it empty? This is when I would start yelling "Who put an empty granola bar box back into the pantry!?!?" And the answer would inevitably be "I don't know" (BTW, there is an invisible being living in our house named "I don't know". He is very very naughty. I can't see him but my kids can since they always seem to blame him when something is lost, broken, stained, spilled, or when I find an empty box in the pantry. If you know how I can rid myself of this menace, please let me know.)

Anyway, my solution to the empty box problem is to have a Treat Box. When I come home from the grocery store, I empty any individually wrapped treats into the Treat Box and then recycle the empty box right away. This way the kids can reach into the box and get a treat, and I don't have to mess with an empty box when I have a craving for a granola bar, or say some chocolate.

Although it's just me and my husband, I like your suggestion. I don't like all the boxes of Pop Tarts, granola bars, and 100 calorie snacks taking up space in my cupboard. Sometimes my husband forgets his own treats are up in the cupboard, and I have to keep asking him if he's planning to eat them, while they sit there for a month taking up precious space. I'm going to brainstorm to see how I can possibly implement a treat box into my space.

I missed WFMW so I'm browsing them now.

Thank you for visiting my blog this week! And this, I must say, is a great idea. We inevitably end up with 8 half-empty boxes of snacks in our pantry, so it looks like we have more stuff than we really do.

I love this idea & really need to do it. Not only is easier to find the treats, but you aren't dealing with tons of partially filled boxes either.
